We live in this world with hidden mask to hide dark shades of our lives to show case ourselves as good people. No body can be happy by seeing the dark side of the other person in any relation. If we want to be happy and contented then the only way is to ignore the dark side and start admiring the bright side of the person to make the relation more strong. May be that's the reason this proverb exists. Ignorance is bliss.
