After seeing posts in fb about Molestation and someone saying it's not such serious issue, I am posting this. It's serious issue. You may say that Indian reputation is at stake because of media etc. I agree that media always over react and name rape country or not safe for women for their TRP ratings. But it should be noted that it is time to do something rather than debating that these incidents keep happening or not mass Molestation.
First and foremost thing: Stop debating or saying it is common or not such things happened. Issue exists. Small or medium or large scale. But exists.
Every issue should have a root cause. What is that?
Some people say women's dressing is the problem. If it is the case, we have seen in past many incidents happened where girl wore full clothes etc. So it is not the proper cause.
Issue is not only in India. It exists everywhere. Yes. But India is the one western always follow. Most of the western people are seriously considering yoga, meditation as very important aspect in life. So it is now duty of Indian great philosophers or intellects to provide solution to this problem. So that western can then implement later. I am not degrading western but I am saying Indian philosophy can provide solutions to any problems in the world. So in order to find cause for this. Let's put all our prejudices aside. Let us take it on different prospective. Instead of keep thinking or stating women should be good, talking about women, let's talk about men. I am a man but yet providing data that was stated in scriptures. I agree that most of men do never follow these principles.
Indian philosophy did put many rules for men. Forget about women. Men had to follow strict rules that they should treat every other women with respect irrespective of the age, dress or even if her character is so bad. Swami Rama Krishna pramahansa saw goddess in a prostitute. Such is the greatness of Indian philosophical rules. It's very difficult to do that. If you cannot do it, then you are an animal, this is what scriptures say.
Let's talk about this in detail. Indian culture never said do what you want, but strictly warned ensure not to be an animal. An animal does not have intellect, so he does whatever he wants. But man has ability to control the senses using intellect. Such intellect was being used in olden days. Still a few men follow these stringently.
Indian philosophy or verdant philosophy stated following are strict rules to be followed.
Samamu : one has to control his mind all the time. So he should be sure that no one gets hurt because of his bad behavior. So this means man should not take any thing that makes him out of control. If he is not following, he is an animal.
This is the first principle one has to follow.
Damamu: He should then control his senses like not craving for anything, food, money or power etc.
Uparathi: Man should divert his mind thinking about lust, slowly convert his mind towards higher side rather than for animalistic pleasure.
Titiksha:, Man should have immense power to have at most patience irrespective of circumstances. He should not lose patience.
Every man has qualities to follow these principles. But unfortunately most of so called intellects never follow and have only time to think of negative about ancient Indian wisdom or God.
Earlier days, kids used to be sent to a guru irrespective of position, power, money. There the guru used to make these kids so powerful yet so down to earth by following above four rules strictly. People used to question why education was not there for women. Education was there for women, many historic lead women did got education. But what is lacking is values from childhood.
How many parents are there to strictly restrict their kids to follow these principles. Especially male kids?. We want our kids to be educated in higher schools where Western culture is more prominent. What Western culture teaches? Man has immense power to do anything. Indian scriptures did say God is in every human being and not even a piece of grass is different from God. But the RISHIs said that man has to put so much effort in controlling his senses and especially mind.
All parents should check once whether we are following these principles or not.
So the root cause is not following principles stated in vehicle scriptures. This should be strictly implemented from child hood days.
If you want the solution for this never ending problem, start teaching these principles from early age 2-3years and make them so powerful yet so humble. That is the only way.
